Hilma Nikolaisen - Mjusic

Review by Vincent Liu

Hilma Nikolaisen's latest album, Mjusic, is a mesmerizing journey through the sounds of psychedelic rock and dream-pop. The Norwegian musician has crafted a record that is both ethereal and grounded, with soaring guitar riffs and haunting vocals that transport listeners to another world.

From the opening track "Wordlessly" to the dreamy "Mjusic," Nikolaisen's voice is the centerpiece of the album, floating above the hypnotic rhythms and lush instrumentation. Her lyrics are poetic and introspective, exploring themes of love, loss, and self-discovery.

The album's standout tracks include "Only Me," a slow-burning ballad with a haunting melody, and "Lost in Motion," a psychedelic trip that builds to a euphoric crescendo. Nikolaisen's guitar work is particularly impressive on "Let It Go," where she channels the spirit of Jimi Hendrix with a blistering solo.

This is so great.

I can hear all the usual SM hallmarks - the heavy panned vocals and guitars, the woozy spaciousness. All in benefit of a ridiculous pop monster. Great vocal, fantastic production.

Where was this shot? Looks like a fun Norwegian gallery!

Greetings from Canada.
