Hair Police - Constantly Terrified

Review by Kenya Lucas-Matos

The album Constantly Terrified by Hair Police is a haunting and intense experience that is sure to leave a lasting impression on any listener. The band's signature blend of noise, drone, and harsh electronics creates a dark and unsettling atmosphere that is both captivating and terrifying.

From the opening track, "The Smell of Blood," the listener is plunged into a world of chaos and dissonance, with screeching feedback and distorted vocals creating a sense of unease and dread. As the album progresses, the band explores a variety of sonic textures and moods, from the frenzied aggression of "Mercurial Rites" to the eerie calm of "The Haunting."

Despite the challenging nature of the music, Hair Police manages to create moments of beauty and transcendence amidst the chaos. The closing track, "The Mirror," is a stunning example of this, with shimmering guitars and ethereal vocals providing a sense of catharsis and release after the album's relentless barrage of noise.

5:50 The pain of getting kicked in the testicles, translated into sound. I know this because as I was getting ready to type this, I sat on my nuts.

I love this album, noise has such a good sound. Almost the mirror opposite to atmospheric/chill type music. But at the same time, its all based on what our ears percieve. If its pleasant or not is a judgement. The psychological side of things can get confusing to some people.
