Review by AsambleAbertArteixo Asamblea

Alphabet Town, the debut solo album by Gerry Cott, showcases a diverse range of musical styles and influences, from the catchy pop hooks of "Lost Weekend" to the haunting balladry of "The Silent Parade". Cott, best known as the guitarist and co-founder of 80s new wave band The Boomtown Rats, demonstrates his versatility as a songwriter and musician throughout the album, incorporating elements of rock, folk, and even classical music into his compositions.

The opening track, "I Need a Witness", sets the tone for the album with its driving rhythm and anthemic chorus. Cott's vocals are strong and emotive, conveying a sense of urgency and passion that carries throughout the record. "The Big Picture" is a standout track, with its lush orchestration and soaring melodies, while "The Only Game in Town" showcases Cott's guitar skills with its intricate riffs and solos.

Thanks for posting -- not available on music streaming service. Great song. Gerry is also a great guitarist who can play flamenco and rock.

So many great tunes that got buried by time. I remember listening to this in the 80s. Canadian artist did not get the recognition that some of them deserved and this tune is an example of that. Great song! Good memories!

Good on ya! Heard this song a few years ago on Giant FM out of Niagara-haven't heard it since on the radio. Rare tune reminds me of high school.
