Silent Cries, the fifth studio album by American progressive metal band Fates Warning, is a masterpiece that showcases the band's musical prowess and creativity. Released in 1988, the album features eight tracks that take the listener on a journey through intricate rhythms, soaring melodies, and thought-provoking lyrics.
From the opening notes of "Innocence" to the closing chords of "Nothing Left to Say," Silent Cries is a tour de force of progressive metal. The band's signature sound is on full display, with Jim Matheos' intricate guitar work, Mark Zonder's powerful drumming, and Ray Alder's emotive vocals all working together to create a sonic landscape that is both haunting and beautiful.
