About EMMA

Emma is an American Screamo rock band formed in fall of 2003. The group consists of: Jose Rodriguez (Vocals), Stephen Jasko: (Guitar & Vocals), Adam Kobylarz (Guitar), Jeff Tussi (Guitar & Keyboard), Justin Maikisch (Bass), and Jono Melamed (Drums). The band was a four piece band and had a guitarist named Mensi, he had problems with the band and so they kicked him out. The band needed a new guitarist until Justin remembered that his good friend Adam from school played guitar. The next day Justin told Adam the situation at hand and invited him to come down and jam next band practice. Adam quickly agreed and attended the next practice. Two things happened: 1. together they wrote two songs. 2. Adam said that he wouldn't play any old Emma songs. Justin, Dave, and Chris were a little upset but agreed and started talking about finding a new singer because Dave didn't want to sing anymore. Adam remembered his good friend Jose was a singer. Adam quickly invited him down and the new Emma was born. The band first signed into Skyline Records on September 6, 2004 and released a 5 track EP on Purevolume in October 18, 2004. They then signed into Emerald Moon Records and released their debut EP on January 18, 2005. The decided to change their name to GunsLikeGirls in 2005
