About Death Valley Pizza

Death Valley Pizza is fronted by Julian, CA based singer-guitarist Ian Zalewski and Dennis Caplinger on banjo, mandolin, and fiddle. Caplinger has also played with Berkley Hart, Eve Selis, and Tim Flannery. In late 2014, the band went to Oregon to record with San Diego's Duncan Moore on drums and Kim Deschamp of the Cowboy Junkies guesting on pedal steel. Influences: Doc Watson, Les Paul, Randy Newman, Bob Moog, Carlos Montoya, Grateful Dead, the Rutles, Steve Miller, Chrissie Hynde, Ravi Shankar, Vivaldi, Gillian Welch, XTC, Frank Zappa
