The Crows - No Help Wanted Seven Lonely Days

Review by Hillary Warren

Crows' album No Help Wanted Seven Lonely Days is a hauntingly beautiful collection of songs that captures the essence of heartbreak and longing. The band's signature sound of moody, atmospheric indie rock is on full display, with ethereal guitar lines and melancholic vocals that perfectly complement the introspective lyrics.

The album opens with the title track, a slow-burning ballad that sets the tone for the rest of the record. From there, Crows takes the listener on a journey through the ups and downs of love and loss, with tracks like "Chain Reaction" and "Whispering" showcasing the band's ability to craft emotionally resonant songs that stick with you long after the music has ended.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Hang Me High", a brooding, atmospheric song that features a haunting vocal performance from lead singer James Cox. The song builds to a cathartic climax, with Cox's voice soaring above the swirling guitars and pounding drums.

I had no idea this version of the Carlisle's song existed. What a great post. I gotta believe that the "big at the little and bottom at the top" line started as "little in the middle and big at the top" but no one has ever sung it that way. I can't believe there are only 326 views and no comments after a year. I heard the Carlisle's original version of this song on the Willie's Roadhouse channel on Sirius and loved the controlled chaos of that version.
