Hey evilspin this is not Latin singer and in this song you have style Freestyle, latin and HiNrg not a singers.Latin singers and American not the same..or producers....It's very small namber in USA....this is call the music sound style latin or Freestyle..The name is such that the rhythm of some songs is similar to the Latin American like in Brasil..Argentina..but this song is American not latin ..Writters are Americans for this song and producer also..do not teach me...everyone has their own opinion...I'll tell you what it is.
This is more of the Miami-styled Hi-NRG music inspired by disco, this is not freestyle. Her song Let me go was more along the lines of Freestyle. These type of artists were handed to different freestyle/Hi-NRG producers to record. Some call it Miami Freestyle or Miami dance classics. Its just mainly slumped as freestyle because of the era, prolific similar dance records released in Miami at the time, latin-American dominated and the genre exploded and took notice faster than hi-nrg did in Miami which was more noticed in San Fran, NY, Canada, Europe and amongst italo-disco fans. The only freestyle relation this has is it has the melody Connie's funky little beat line in one of the songs verse. A lot of people call this and artists like:
Promise Circle
Chapter One
Leslie Parks
The Flirts
Company B
Tina K
Left Lane
Charlotte McKinnon
Tiger Moon
Secret Ties
Blue Moderne
Jeaneet
Prototype
Lime
Tapps
Nancy Martinez, etc. as freestyle because the singers were either latin or some of their producers were or dabbled and worked with freestyle producers while adding latin percussions or because they add edits on the vocals which is an element freestyle incorporates. But these latin producers were influenced or came from rock and disco. While Freestyle producers were influenced by hip hop, kraftwerk and electro-funk.
Freestyle music has stress on beats two and four; syncopation on the beat with bassline, hip hop or electo-funk elements and a louder bass drum. While this song and the artists mentioned do not, this has four on the floor kicks as a beat, disco inspired sound and tempo, with electronic timbres, energetic, staccato, sequenced synthesizer sound of octave basslines.
Proper Miami Freestyle would be:
Fontaine
Cherokee
Stevie B
Jaya
Expose
Sequal
Olga
Madi
Debbie Deb
Trinere
Pretty Tony
G.T.
Maga
Linear
Split Mirrors
