Benoît Pioulard - Stanza III

Benoît Pioulard's third album, Stanza III, is a haunting and introspective work that showcases the artist's unique blend of ambient and folk influences. From the opening track, "Margin," Pioulard's delicate guitar work and hushed vocals set a contemplative tone that carries throughout the album.
Tracks like "Censer" and "The Gilded Fear That Guides the Flow" build slowly, layering intricate melodies and textures to create a sense of depth and complexity. Meanwhile, more stripped-down tracks like "Of Everything That Rhymes" showcase Pioulard's gift for crafting simple, evocative melodies that linger long after the song has ended.
Despite its ethereal and introspective nature, Stanza III is also a deeply emotional work that touches on themes of loss, memory, and nostalgia. The album's closing track, "Gospel," is a particularly poignant moment, with Pioulard's voice soaring over a wash of ambient noise and distant percussion.
