Review by Patrick Adams

Vernon Dalhart's album My Sweet Egyptian Rose is a delightful collection of country and folk songs that transport the listener to a bygone era. The album features Dalhart's distinctive voice, which is both soothing and powerful, and his masterful guitar playing. The songs on the album are mostly traditional folk tunes, but Dalhart's unique interpretations make them fresh and exciting.

One standout track on the album is "My Sweet Egyptian Rose," a haunting ballad that tells the story of a man who falls in love with a beautiful woman from Egypt. Dalhart's voice is particularly emotive on this track, conveying the longing and despair of the protagonist. Another standout is "The Prisoner's Song," a classic country tune that Dalhart infuses with his own brand of soulful intensity.
