The Sweet Adelines 1977 International Convention album is a must-have for any lover of barbershop music. Featuring performances from various quartets and choruses, this album captures the essence of the annual competition held by the Sweet Adelines International organization.
The album opens with a beautiful rendition of "I've Been Working on the Railroad" by the Rich-Tones chorus. The harmonies are tight and the energy is infectious. The album also includes standout performances by the SAI quartet champions of that year, the Sidekicks, who deliver a stunning rendition of "If You Love Me (Really Love Me)."
Listeners are treated to a variety of classic songs, including "My Wild Irish Rose" by the Melodeers chorus and "When You Wish Upon a Star" by the City of Lakes chorus. The album also includes some contemporary tunes, such as "The Way We Were" by the Four-Star Collection quartet.
