About T'Pau
British pop rock group who had a string of Top 40 hits in the UK in the late 1980s.
The band formed in 1986 in Shropshire, taking their name from a Vulcan elder of the same name in the sci-fi series Star Trek.

I remember as a teenager, reading that Carol had been a prison officer before Tpau. I was in the pub with my dad and we were talking about Tpau and Carol and we were both big fans of their music and especially both of us fancied Carol. I said to dad that she had been a prison officer.
Dad's reply made me laugh. He said "yeah, I'd heard she was a good screw".
