In my last three semesters at the University of Florida, I won an overnight slot at WUFT-FM, a classical music and NPR station by day, and a relatively free form overnight format, where I found Live and in Living Color in the stacks of LPs and made hay. It is still one of the best live albums I've ever heard, and since then, I have seen them at least five times. They still bring it, even now, but their shows I've seen are disappointing only in their shortness. The last show I saw was 75 minutes, so it was a dollar a minute, but it was indeed high energy
Prestia and Garibaldi just killin’ it ???
Best jam session ever recorded live! I grew up listening to Tower of Power cos my dad was in a cover band from the 70's to the 80's and they covered a few songs from Tower of Power. He was also really good friends with Rick Stevens. I believe this recording was taken live in Sacramento.
LP, DG,CT and Rocco!
RIP Francis “Rocco” Prestia
fukkkk yesssssss
in the seventh grade (1981), at Bret Harte Junior High in Oakland, the horns came in and did a workshop for the music program. DG too. For a twelve-year-old kid, this was a frightening experience. One I will always treasure. :)
All I can say is daaaamn,,,,,this is the music I played when I was younger,,,,,,now I see why my standard of music is so high and I can't stand shit like the voice, American idol , and all of this other shit because if you couldn't play like this you'd never find a spot in our band!!!!
