Holly wrote the song for heart. She didn't copy it. Holly more talented than ppl know inmho.
This is the original song & it's good but Heart's version is way better. Heart version is more edgy & Ann Wilson voice is way more powerful.
Best Song . . .Heart Made Popular Hit. . .Only Toronto Was Here !!!! 80´s Forever
This is the original & although it's good Heart version is way better. Heart version is more edgy & Ann Wilson voice is way more powerful.
I was in a blues band with Holly circa 2000. Her voice was even better at that time than it is in these videos from the ‘80s. I didn’t know much about Toronto at the time, but you don’t hear a singer like that every day!
First time to hear the original. Heart’s version definitely has more energy.
Sometimes it just takes Ann Wilson. Further proof? Listen to the original version if Alone by i-Ten.
I heard the Heart version first which did bias me towards "Heart"'s version but frankly, even if this isn't the best song by Holly or her best effort, it is a good effort. Nonsingers, stop being so damn judgemental towards what you hear.
