Rare 1936 Broadcast Recordings by Tommy Dorsey and His Orchestra is a delightful album for any jazz lover. The album features some of the earliest recordings of the legendary band, captured live in various radio broadcasts from 1936. The sound quality is surprisingly good for its age, and the music is simply outstanding.
The album kicks off with the upbeat and lively "After You've Gone", which sets the tone for the rest of the album. The band plays with incredible energy and precision, and Tommy Dorsey's trombone solos are simply mesmerizing. The album also features some of the band's most popular hits, such as "Opus One", "Marie", and "Song of India".
One of the highlights of the album is the beautiful rendition of "Stardust", which showcases the band's ability to play slow and mellow tunes with great finesse. The album also features some lesser-known gems, such as "The Dipsy Doodle" and "The Music Goes Round and Round", which are sure to delight any swing dancer.
