Nabe joue à rêver aux rêves de Monk.
Monk was brilliant...a Rembrandt or Picasso. Yet I don’t think that he got a fair shake. Don’t think he was formerly trained. Shit, the producer was apparently to cheap to provide him with a piano that was even remotely tuned. Unbelievable.
Fake and gay song
killing! ty for posting!
One of my favorites! Thanks for posting Ben!Frankie Dunlop and John Orr? -great drum solo!!
just incredible why did the album have to end
The ten hammers of thelonious monk
That is some ugly fuckin music haha! The drummer is good)
agree the early records-trios in particular are magical. Thank the deities no-one tuned the piano first- the sound here is stunningly beautiful. I do love theis Blakey trio at least as much as the Roach, - but---it's all eye-wateringly beautiful
j'aime la destruction du thème, pas vous ?
Yep.
What happened to him during the War, any ideas folks?? Thanks; was he a cook or summat??!
ART BLAKEY!!
So raw
Jazz is just bro unexplainable

art blakey kills it on the drums here so creative so swinging and such a joy to listen to

Douceurs dissonantes.
it never got better than these great trio recordings- still as fresh as tomorrow morning
Sweet and lovely sweeter than the roses in May
Sweet and lovely heaven must have sent her my way
Skies above me never were as blue as her eyes
And she loves me, who would want a sweeter surprise
When she nestles in my arms so tenderly
There's a thrill that words cannot express
In my heart a song of love is taunting me, melody, haunting me
Sweet and lovely sweeter than the roses in May
And she loves me, there is nothing more I can say
Sweet and lovely sweeter than the roses in May
Sweet and lovely heaven must have sent her my way
Skies above me never were as blue as her eyes
And she loves me, who would want a sweeter surprise
When she nestles in my arms so tenderly
There's a thrill that words cannot express
In my heart a song of love is taunting me, melody, haunting me
Sweet and lovely sweeter than the roses in May
And she loves me, there is nothing more I can say
