Review by Gary Gray

Tex Beneke, Ray Eberle, and The Modernaires have come together to create a delightful album titled Something Old Something New Something Borrowed Something Blue. True to its name, the album features a mix of classic tracks and new compositions, along with a few borrowed tunes thrown in for good measure.

The album opens with "Chattanooga Choo Choo," a popular swing-era hit that was originally recorded by Glenn Miller and his orchestra. Tex Beneke and Ray Eberle do a fantastic job of capturing the song's playful energy, while The Modernaires provide tight harmonies in the background.

Other standout tracks on the album include "I've Got You Under My Skin," a classic Cole Porter tune that is given a fresh new arrangement, and "Blue Skies," a timeless Irving Berlin composition that is beautifully sung by Ray Eberle.

The album also features a few surprises, such as "The Girl From Ipanema," a bossa nova classic that is given a swing makeover, and "Route 66," a bluesy number that showcases Tex Beneke's impressive saxophone skills.
