This is actually a 1961 stereo remake for Dot. Not the 1957 single version. However, IMHO it's a smoother and better sounding version than his original.
Wonderful voice !!! TAB HUNTER !!!!

RIP Tab X
R.I.P. you're forever sailing in the sunset.
My beloved Natalie went away September 2003
While I like this STEREO version, it's not Tab's original 1957 version as released on the Dot 45. The original single version was recorded in MONO only, before Dot Records got hold of stereo equipment. This stereo remake was recorded in 1961.
I remember in late 1950s/early 1960s when young women and both teen and pre-teen girls were in love with the Tabmeister. ♣
He was my idol as a kid.
Tab- you could do NO Wrong! Wonderful talented Man! ed @ sho buz
This was one of my favorite songs in the summer of 1957 at the lake, and there were many variations, but I liked Tab Hunter's best...when I was young. I can tell the difference of all the artists and the tones, because I had an ear for music. I could play pretty well on my accordion by ear, without ever taking a lesson. This one is not the same....
You're right.
My mum had the 78 rpm of this song in the 50's. Had :" Red Sails In The Sunset " on the other side. WE only had a dozen records then , and flogged the crap out of this one :-)
Love this song!!
