About Sunnysiders

American pop music trio, who enjoyed brief success in the mid-1950s. The musicians first met while they were all members of The Spike Jones Orchestra. Freddy Morgan played banjo and wrote special material. Margie Rayburn was a singer with the group, and Jad Paul played banjo, guitar and sang. Their first hit record, "Hey Mr. Banjo," was written by Freddy in collaboration with Jad Paul and writer-manager Norman Malkin, who wrote many of their songs. The group had just two banjos and three voices. Through the use of over-dubbing their instruments and voices, they were able to produce a sound that was similar to a large ensemble.
