Snake River's latest album, Songs From The Adjacent Room, is a haunting and introspective collection of songs that showcase the band's signature blend of indie rock and Americana. From the opening track, "The Only One," the album sets a somber and contemplative tone that carries through to the final notes of "The End of the Line."
One of the standout tracks on the album is "Ghosts," which features a brooding guitar riff and haunting vocals that perfectly capture the song's theme of lost love and regret. Another highlight is "Broken Arrow," which has a more upbeat tempo but still manages to convey a sense of melancholy and longing.
Artist:Snake River Album: Songs From The Adjacent Room
This record takes a place on Feb. 2, 1989 in the town of Snake River Mountain, and revolves around main characters author Reginald McKruski and his wife Jeanie McFeven-McKruski (when both characters are stricken with enormous hangovers). The one exception being Mr. McKruski Exits The Party, which occurred the evening prior and from which their aforementioned hangovers derived. Each song describes moments and pulls together snippets of their conversations throughout the day, as well as flashbacks from their sixteen-year marriage. Reg and Jeanie retreat to and from their own private bedrooms to have their brief interactions with one another – their rooms are adjacent one another’s. The lyrics are culled from conversations, thoughts, memories, a letter and a dream on this day.
