Review by Katt Winters

The album Wild Man Blues Blues In Thirds by Sidney Bechet & His New Orleans Feetwarmers is a classic jazz masterpiece that showcases the incredible talent of Sidney Bechet and his band. The album features a mix of traditional New Orleans jazz and blues, with Bechet's signature style of playing the clarinet and soprano saxophone.

The album opens with the upbeat and lively "Wild Man Blues," which sets the tone for the rest of the album. The band's energy and enthusiasm are infectious, and Bechet's solos are simply breathtaking. The album also features a number of slower, more soulful tunes, such as "Blues in Thirds" and "Sweetie Dear," which allow Bechet to showcase his ability to convey deep emotion through his playing.

Throughout the album, Bechet's bandmates provide excellent support, with standout performances from pianist Willie "The Lion" Smith and trumpeter Tommy Ladnier. The band's chemistry is palpable, and it's clear that they had a deep understanding of each other's playing styles.
