Review by Lee Victor

Ireland Express, the latest album by Shufflers, is a musical journey through the rich cultural heritage of Ireland. The album features a diverse range of tracks, from traditional Irish folk songs to contemporary rock-infused anthems.

The band's ability to seamlessly blend different genres and styles is evident throughout the album. The opening track, "Wild Rover," is a traditional folk song that is given a modern twist with the addition of electric guitars and drums. The result is a foot-tapping, high-energy track that sets the tone for the rest of the album.

Other standout tracks include "Galway Girl," a catchy and upbeat love song, and "The Fields of Athenry," a poignant ballad that showcases the band's ability to convey emotion through their music.

One of the strengths of Ireland Express is the band's use of traditional Irish instruments, such as the fiddle and tin whistle, which add an authentic and unique flavor to the album. The musicianship on display is impressive, with each member of the band contributing to create a cohesive and polished sound.

Thank You for sharing this . This recording is of my Dad, John Henry Martino and His Band, 'The Shufflers'.
This song was recorded and and another 'Ireland Express' (the other side of this 45rpm vinyl release).
Both were played at sock-hops organized by Porky Chedwick and on Pittsburgh radio,
The Shufflers went on a brief cross-country tour but returned to their roots and changed to non music professions when a new band came along whom my father said 'changed every thing' (in referencing The Beatles). "whole new chord progressions, foreign instruments, alternate tunings, symphony orchestras ... it wasn't simple Chuck Berry riffs anymore."
~ John Henry Martino 1937-2017 RIP
