- In this solo piano album, Pianist Seray Kalelioğlu gives life to previously unrecorded works of the piano prodigy and composer Johann Nepomuk Hummel. Student of the great composer Mozart and a friend and rival of Beethoven, Hummel was a well-known composer in the late Classical period. The album “Existence” consists of Hummel’s short pieces and it chronicles the story of young Hummel becoming a pianist. A highly regarded pedagogue on pianism, in these works Hummel abstracts musical forms with great flair.
- The work pays homage to Hummel in assembling the following titles that have been recorded for the very first time: “Alla Polacca”, “Allegretto and Gigue”, “An Alexis”, “Andantino”, “Assembly Waltz”, “Marcia” and “Six Easy Pieces (Op.42).
