Review by Quian Moore

The Florestan Trio's rendition of Schubert's Piano Trio No. 2 in E Flat Major D929 is a magnificent masterpiece that showcases the group's exceptional musical prowess and emotional depth. The album features four movements that are beautifully crafted, highlighting the trio's remarkable synergy and technical finesse.

In the first movement, the group's performance is marked by a robust, full-bodied sound that captures the essence of Schubert's romanticism. The second movement is a poignant and lyrical adagio that showcases the Florestan Trio's ability to convey a range of emotions through their music. The third movement is a lively scherzo that features intricate interplay between the trio members, while the final movement is a triumphant allegro that brings the album to a rousing conclusion.

Throughout the album, the Florestan Trio's interpretation of Schubert's work is marked by a deep understanding of the composer's style and intent. Their playing is nuanced and expressive, with each member contributing equally to the overall sound. The recording quality is superb, capturing the warmth and richness of the instruments without sacrificing clarity.
