Review by Twyla Shaw

The Trout Quintet D 667 by Schubert, Louis Kentner, Hungarian String Quartet is a masterpiece that showcases the brilliance of classical music. The album contains five movements, each beautifully composed and executed with precision.

The first movement, Allegro Vivace, is a lively and energetic piece that sets the tone for the entire album. The second movement, Andante, is a soothing and melancholic piece that showcases the strings' ability to create a mood that is both emotional and powerful.

The third movement, Scherzo, is a playful and light-hearted piece that highlights the quintet's ability to seamlessly transition between different moods and tempos. The fourth movement, Theme and Variations, is a stunning display of Schubert's compositional skills, with each variation adding a new layer of complexity and depth to the original theme.

The final movement, Allegro Giusto, is a triumphant and celebratory piece that brings the entire album to a satisfying conclusion. Louis Kentner's piano work is exceptional throughout the album, and the Hungarian String Quartet's performance is flawless.
