Scarface - Black Still

Review by Alexander Fillbrandt

Scarface's latest album, Black Still, is an emotional and powerful piece of work. The legendary rapper, whose real name is Brad Jordan, has been in the game for over three decades, and his experience shows in the depth and complexity of his lyrics.

The album opens with "Black Still Intro," a haunting track that sets the tone for the rest of the album. Scarface's voice is raw and intense, and the lyrics touch on themes of racial injustice and oppression. This is a recurring theme throughout the album, with tracks like "The Hot Seat" and "Same Ol Same" delving deeper into these issues.

But Black Still isn't just an album about social commentary. Scarface also touches on personal struggles, like on the track "Money and the Power," where he raps about the pitfalls of fame and fortune. The album also features collaborations with other artists, like Nas on "Do What I Do" and CeeLo Green on "Steer."
