Sarcofago's Rotting album is a true masterpiece of extreme metal. Released in 1989, it is considered one of the most influential albums in the genre and a landmark in Brazilian metal history. The album features a raw and aggressive sound, with fast and intense riffs, brutal vocals, and pounding drums. The lyrics deal with themes of death, decay, and blasphemy, adding to the overall dark and menacing atmosphere of the album.

The opening track, "The Laws of Scourge," sets the tone for the rest of the album with its blistering speed and ferocious energy. Other standout tracks include "Desecration of Virgin," "Satanic Lust," and "Alcoholic Coma," all of which showcase the band's uncompromising approach to extreme music. The album also features a cover of Bathory's "Satan My Master," which Sarcofago infuses with their own brand of blackened thrash.

Gerald Incubus is credited on the backcover for bass & backing vocals on the Rotting album. In the booklet and at the DVD credits he is only credited for bass.
The concert in question took place at the Ginastico gymnasium in Belo Horizonte in 1991.
This is a legendary concert for the Belo Horizonte metal scene of the late 80s and early 90s.
The concert featured Sextrash as the opener and Sarcófago as the second band.
Morbid Angel was the headliner as part of the "Altars of Madness" tour.
This DVD features the Sarcófago concert only.

About Sarcofago

Death/black/thrash metal pioneers from Brazil that has gained legendary status. They were active from 1985-2000. In 2006 Gerald Minelli, Manuel Henriques and Fábio Jhasko and other guest musicians started performing some live concerts as a Sarcófago tribute band, though not claimed to be a reunited Sarcófago.

Featuring a disgusting artwork and an even more disgusting production (fake drums, fake dual guitar effect and blurred sound engineering), the band's second EP Rotting is a severe slop compared to their debut, and definitely not that fun. The vocals are a Cronos imitation. Only for fans.

Lamento descubrír Sarcofago tarde, en mi casa lo más cercano al metal que se escuchaba era Queen, mis compañeros de escuela peor, cumbia escuchaban. Las tendencias en los canales de musica iban de mediocres para abajo así que musicalmente me tuve que educar yo sólo ya sea leyendo revistas, escuchando la radio, mirando televisión (programas especializados por cierto) y así fuí descubriendo un monton de bandas tales como Nightwish, Rotting Christ, Soulfly, Obús, Venom y muchísimas más. A Sarcofago lo descubrí gracias a Satyricon que hicieron un cover de I.N.R.I. incuido en Rebel Extravavanza. Me hubiera gustado escuchar Sarcofago cuando tenia 12 años pero en fin. Saludos desde Argentina!!!
