About Rene & Rene

Composed of René Ornelas (born August 26, 1936) and René Herrera (born October 2, 1935; died December 20, 2005), the group scored two hit singles in the U.S. in the 1960s. 1964's "Angelito" ("Little Angel") peaked at #43 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, and 1969's "Lo Mucho que Te Quiero (The More I Love You)" hit #2 on the Adult Contemporary chart and #14 on the Hot 100 chart. In Canada it reached #15.

René Herrera was my dad’s friend. They met while singing with los amigos de Jesús in Saint Patrick’s church in Laredo tx. My dad was asked to sing this song for him at his funeral by his family. Great man and I’m honored to have known him.
Magnífico dueto que los vi y escuché allá por los 60,s cuándo la TV era en blanco y negro.
I truly miss Dick Clark. He was a good host.
