Haendel With Care, the latest album by French flutist Raymond Guiot, is a stunning tribute to the legendary composer George Frideric Handel. Guiot's virtuosic flute playing is perfectly suited to Handel's intricate Baroque compositions, and he brings a fresh, dynamic energy to each piece.
One of the standout tracks on the album is "Lascia ch'io pianga" from Handel's opera Rinaldo. Guiot's flute sings with a poignant, wistful quality that perfectly captures the yearning emotion of the aria. Another standout is "Arrival of the Queen of Sheba" from Solomon, which Guiot imbues with a lively, joyful energy.
Throughout the album, Guiot is accompanied by a talented ensemble of musicians, including harpsichordist Elisabeth Joyé and cellist Emmanuel Jacques. The interplay between the instruments is seamless, and the arrangements are tasteful and elegant.
