Puzzlehead - Pathfinder

Review by Juan Carlos Tovar Gomez

Puzzlehead's latest album, Pathfinder, is a sonic journey that takes the listener through a range of emotions and musical landscapes. The band's unique blend of indie rock, post-punk, and shoegaze is on full display here, and the result is a cohesive and engaging record that rewards repeat listens.

From the opening track "Lost in the Fog," with its driving rhythms and soaring guitar lines, to the dreamy, introspective "Hollow," Puzzlehead proves that they are masters of their craft. Singer/guitarist Rachel Hagan's vocals are a standout feature, as she effortlessly switches between ethereal and anguished.

The album's title track, "Pathfinder," is a particular highlight, with its propulsive beat and swirling guitars building to a cathartic climax. Other standout tracks include "Escape," with its urgent, urgent melody, and the haunting "Echoes," which showcases the band's ability to create atmosphere and mood.

I’m the drummer on this recording, thanks for putting this up since it looks like it’s the only document of us online.
We also put out a 7” called “See Thru” and a full album called “Pathfinder”, if I ever get around to it I should put them on here.

The comp that got me into hardcore punk. So many great jams and bands on this thing. These dudes, Rorschach, Native Nod, that fucking Greyhouse song...

My pleasure man. Glad you found it. This is a great, creative cover of one of the best hardcore punk bands.
