Patti Austin is one of the greatest singers in Jazz and Soul, but not all of her albums are brilliant, highs and lows, but almost every album has a stunner. "The Real Me" though is one of the finest relases in her career, owed not only to her vocal skilld but also to the incredible great cast of musicians and producers. No one sings "Smoke gets in your eyes" and "Spring can hang you up the most" like Patti does. The album deserves it's title "The Real Me"...
Nice version by Patti. But here’s my favorite

L.O.V.E. IT!!!
A lot of people slept on this song. But I really do lie this Hank Williams remake.
The funniest tune I ever heard. Especially the part where they got hit by that train!! Toot! Toot!!
This is waaaay too much fun.
I can imagine this as a Drag talent performance with back up dancers.

I love this version of this song. None better!
Thank you, it's one of my very favorites!!! Apprecialove Patti Austin!!! Love you! ❤?????????????
Her background ochestral work is so similar to Al Jareau. Need this big band sound with brass, winds, and basso. Add some strings when needed. Perfiect.
Too funny that the add before this recording was Wolfgang Puck's "Master Class". "Bakes a cluck like Wolfgang Puck."
This gal has a great set of pipes!!! Luv her and so sad she is not better promoted for her work. sk

Today another one of my favorite singers released her album and on it is a version of I Can Cook, upon reading the title I recalled Patti Austin's version and hers still beats them all her energy is perfect for this up tempo delight.
