Review by Cole Crouse

Apocalypse Please, the fourth studio album by English rock band Muse, was released in 2003 to critical acclaim. The album features a mix of rock, electronic and classical music, showcasing the band's versatility and creativity.

The opening track, "Apocalypse Please," sets the tone for the album with its ominous piano chords and Matt Bellamy's soaring vocals. The album then moves into "Time Is Running Out," a catchy rock anthem with a driving bassline and explosive chorus.

Other standout tracks include "Sing for Absolution," a haunting ballad with a powerful chorus, and "Stockholm Syndrome," a frenetic rock song that showcases the band's technical prowess. The album also includes a cover of Nina Simone's "Feeling Good," which Muse puts their own spin on with a bombastic arrangement and Bellamy's soaring vocals.

Muse are an English rock band from Teignmouth, Devon, formed in 1994. The band consists of Matthew Bellamy (lead vocals, guitar, keyboards, piano), Christopher Wolstenholme (bass guitar, backing vocals) and Dominic Howard (drums, backing vocals). Dan Lancaster joins Muse on live stage since 2022 (previously Morgan Nicholls) for additional instruments and vocals. Muse signed to Maverick Records and released their debut album, Showbiz, in 1999, showcasing Bellamy's falsetto and a melancholic alternative rock style. Their second album, Origin of Symmetry (2001), incorporated wider instrumentation and romantic classical influences, and earned them a reputation for energetic live performances. Absolution (2003) saw further classical influence, with orchestra on tracks such as "Butterflies & Hurricanes
