MOP - Blow The Horns

Review by Nick Thacker

Blow The Horns by MOP is a gritty and hard-hitting album that showcases the Brooklyn duo's signature blend of streetwise lyrics and heavy beats. Produced by DJ Premier, the album features a range of guest appearances from rap luminaries such as Busta Rhymes, Gang Starr, and Kool G Rap.

From the opening track "Welcome To Brooklyn" to the closing "My Kinda Nigga Part II", MOP proves themselves to be masters of the art of lyrical storytelling. They paint vivid pictures of life on the streets, rapping about everything from drug dealing to police brutality with raw honesty and authenticity.

The album's production is equally impressive, with DJ Premier's beats providing a perfect backdrop for MOP's aggressive delivery. The horns and strings that feature prominently throughout the album give it a cinematic quality, adding to the sense of drama and intensity.
