Review by Ibrahim Asad

Schizophonia, the album by Mike Batt and The London Symphony Orchestra, is a breathtaking musical masterpiece that blends classical orchestration with modern pop sensibilities. The album is a true tour de force, showcasing Batt's exceptional skills as a composer and arranger, and the virtuosity of the LSO.

From the opening track, "Introduction," listeners are transported to a world of lush soundscapes and intricate melodies. Batt's use of complex harmonies and unexpected chord progressions creates a sense of tension and release that keeps the listener engaged throughout the entire album.

The standout track on Schizophonia is "The Ride to Agadir," a stunning piece that features a hauntingly beautiful melody played on the oboe, accompanied by sweeping strings and a driving percussion section. The track builds to a climactic finish that leaves the listener breathless.

Other notable tracks include "Insh'Allah," a hauntingly beautiful ballad with a Middle Eastern flair, and "Tarot Suite," a multi-movement piece that showcases Batt's ability to seamlessly blend different musical styles and genres.
