Sleep well, Lynsey, beautiful lady. So deeply upset about your passing on Wednesday 1st October, 2014 resulting from the same accident that took my mother back in September 1998. Your music will always have a special place in my heart. I had the great pleasure of meeting and talking to you and your friend Julie while I was out having a ride on my bicycle in Hampstead, London NW3 on Saturday 13th July 2013. It was delightful to have that one special encounter. RIP, gorgeous and talented lady.
As I adore this record so much, I just have to say I love the way the castanets gradually change from the intermittent clicking to a continuous rattling sound around 2:15. It's a very clever feature of this song and it's also very intoxicatingly sexy! I can only say I'm glad I bought it in 1974.

I was so much in love with her in the 70s.
this came at a time when she was friends with Roy Wood and Wizzard. Such a great small lady with huge talents...God bless her soul...miss her and her music so much.
Very early 60's sounding! Can imagine The Ronettes singing this too. :)
written in response to Rock n Roll Winter which Roy Wood wrote about her
loved her in the 70,s
agree tottally re "you got me running" . didnt the record company release the wrong track " this is the story of my love" instead because of the false start on the lp? roys career dipped from then onwards
God bless
sugar me Lynsey and o i do
A firm favourite in the early 70's of we Heatree House boarding school boys, playing this on our weedy Dansette as we challenged each other on table football, etc...;)
♥️love titi
Thank you for sharing...
I remember she performed this song on NDR Schaubude (German TV). What a beautiful woman!
Also recorded on album by it's co-writer Barry Blue. I don't know who recorded it first. But both versions had that Deep Wall Of Sound of the seventies, seemingly created by Roy Wood, then in Wizzard. But Barry's version was a bit stronger, and had a stronger intro.
