I don't think I can listen to this song without thinking of my biological grandfather, Joe Hancock, Senior, who passed before I discovered .. or could deal with .. My father was a great man in his humble way, small town mayor always the first the neighbors would call when in trouble and needed help, many evenings he would send us and self out to do something that need a tractor or some strong backs and arms .. his oldest brother was still formidable as a retired older man, last I saw him, he in early 60's, I would guess.

I could tell even as a young man that under that intellectual academic mask the man was someone you would need a serious reason to go against, and good chance you'd come out worse for it.

Dan was the one who showed me the proper response to those 'trunk calls' they use to do with land-line phones, call everyone on a subsection of the network and the first 20 or so would have a sales people ready, and the rest would go to phone and no one there, a nice general FU to us ..

Anyway, we would be in middle of dinner, sometimes seemed too tired to stand after 12 hours on the field or in barn in South Jersey Summer sun, phone would ring and by the time we would get there and answer it, silence.

The first time Dan managed to get it, I watch him lift up the phone and say 'hello?' and then a slow smile, and he put the phone back .. “who was it?” No one. It's so nice not to have to spend tonight not helping someone, .. or similar was his answer.

It gave me a different perspective,
.. now every time I find an empty mail box, I think 'Praise God!'

Anyway, I wonder how being raised near 'Salty Joe' as my functional grandfather, Joe my Uncle, Dan as my father would have changed me.

I was looking though the latest batch of new offerings of Sci-Fi audio books and imagine how many are basically the same stories I've already read.

There was a period in my life that I wanted to find something Original, that I couldn't say - that is the myth story A with some of B, set in the future.
.
I understand better that only such corners as Math, and Science have things that can be Classed as Original, not Discovered yet – in that they haven't been Holy Remembered or Inspired yet this Multiverse path. (yes, I'm now in the proper camp that says we don't Create new things – nothing under God is truly New, unSee already by God.)
.
As such I would like AI (artificial Intelligence) applied to go through and Characterizes all Literature, and construct templates for all the patterns .. ultimately to construct a story outline by specifying the patterns, dates and other aspects, and perhaps even detailing character characteristics .. and create from that – perhaps pointing it at a specific author or sub-group of authors books.
.
Their is a author who for a very small sub-group (2) he's written, I can read and enjoy, with small (3) others I can stand, and I'm not really sure why. It would be neat to examine the patterns and then search through the rest for similar or connected by other authors – or by examining authors, what changed or was different in his/her life to make those more interesting.

Like .. the interweave of different Character Arcs, Time period, Frequency of Drama/Tragedy,..
.

And think of how sociologist could study the results of all that literature dating back to biblical times to present to draw better understanding of humanity, how we are shaping ourselves, correlations with major world events,..
