Review by سمير السويسي

Lee Michaels' album The War Goodbye Goodbye is a powerful and emotive collection of songs that explore the themes of love, loss, and the human cost of war. From the haunting opening track "Do You Know What I Mean" to the melancholy ballad "My Friends," Michaels' distinctive voice and soulful piano playing evoke a sense of longing and nostalgia that is both poignant and uplifting.

The album's title track "The War Goodbye Goodbye" is a standout, with its driving rhythm and powerful lyrics that capture the pain and confusion of soldiers returning home from war. Michaels' ability to convey complex emotions through his music is truly impressive, and his use of dynamic shifts and unexpected chord progressions keeps the listener engaged and invested throughout.

I first heard this song as covered by Climax (Precious & Few) I like their version better from hearing it first but this version is decent too.

I have looked for this song for OVER 40 years!!! Tonight I found it just now. I saw him in concert with my girlfriend (now wife) in '69 at the height of the Viet Nam war, at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium and this song brought the house down! It is incredible and so timely even now! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS HERE! MY SEARCH FOR IT HAS FINALLY ENDED. The last time I heard it was in 1970.
