Krauka - Bylur

Review by Ansel Abeh

Bylur by Krauka is a captivating album that takes the listener on a journey through the mystical world of Norse mythology. The album features a unique blend of traditional Icelandic folk music and modern instrumentation, creating a sound that is both ancient and contemporary.

The album opens with the hauntingly beautiful track "Nornir," which sets the tone for the rest of the album. The vocals are haunting and ethereal, and the instrumentation is sparse yet powerful. The next track, "Hræsvelgr," is a more upbeat tune that features driving percussion and soaring vocals.

Throughout the album, Krauka explores a variety of themes, including the Norse gods, nature, and the cycle of life and death. The lyrics are in Icelandic, but the emotion and passion behind the songs are palpable, even to those who don't understand the language.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Álfadans," which features a beautiful melody and intricate instrumentation. The vocals are particularly impressive on this track, with the harmonies creating a sense of otherworldliness.

@Pawnbroker00 The point is that crow or Krauka refers to Odin's ravens. So when you see a crow or a raven, you got to wonder: Are they watching me? Haha!
