The Joykiller - Supervision

Review by Dave Grossen

Supervision, the latest album by Joykiller, is a must-listen for fans of punk rock. The band's signature sound is present in every track, and the album is a testament to their skill and talent. From the opening notes of "Don't Wanna Be Like You" to the closing chords of "One More Time," the album is a high-energy romp that will leave listeners wanting more.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "I'm Sorry," a fast-paced, guitar-heavy song that showcases the band's ability to write catchy hooks and memorable lyrics. Another highlight is "This Is Where I Belong," a more introspective track that slows things down a bit and allows the band to showcase their more emotional side.

About The Joykiller

Pop punk band led by singer Jack Grisham (ex-, , and ), formed in 1995 with bassist Billy Persons (ex-), drummer Chris Lagerborg (ex-), and keyboardist Ronnie King. They released three albums on Epitaph Records in the mid-1990s. The Joykiller (1995) featured former T.S.O.L. guitarist Ron Emory. By Static (1996) guitarist Sean Greaves (ex-) had joined the band, and by Three (1997) Lagerborg was replaced by Billy Blaze Price. The Joykiller disbanded the following year when Grisham reunited with the other original members of T.S.O.L. to relaunch that band. In 2003 Epitaph released the anthology Ready, Sexed, Go!, compiling tracks from all three studio albums along with previously unreleased material recorded with other musicians and not originally intended to be released under The Joykiller name. In 2014 Grisham came upon a box of promising Joykiller demos and revived the group with Persons, King, Greaves, and drummer Matthew Rainwater to record the crowdfunded album Music For Break-Ups (2015).
