About Johnny Cooper And His Range Riders

Maori singer active and hugely popular in New Zealand in the 1950s, recording for the HMV label. His 1955 version of Rock Around The Clock is allegedly the first rock'n'roll record recorded outside the USA. Born 1929, died 4 September 2014. Johnny was inducted into the New Zealand Music Hall of Fame on 15 November 2020.
