This is beutiful. Some recordings sound so anemic, this has momentum and depth!
Thank you for making this unforgettable performance available again. This is a "desert island" Brahms recording, along with the 1949 Menuhin/Furtwangler/Lucerne Festival Orchestra recording of Violin Concerto (with the the wonderful Fritz Kreisler cadenza).
P.S. This IS the Berlin Philharmonic and NOT the Dresden, which plays the Third Symphony in this set.

Will never not miss the Maestro.
the orchestra is the Dresden Staatskapelle not berlin P O
Just bought the whole LP set. Great recordings. Thanks for the upload!
Jimmy Galway is playing the flute in this performance somewhat like a "flute concerto." Fantastic! Thank you for uploading
