American Gospel and R&B singer based in Memphis. Not to be confused with Soul singer, songwriter and producer for Motown. Born November 15, 1929 in Evansville, Indiana. Died August 13, 1968 in Boston, Massachusetts. Former gospel singer with The Chosen Gospel Singers () and The Spirit Of Memphis Quartet (); moved to Peacock's subsidiary to record R & B, scoring his biggest hit in 1964 with 's "Funny (How Time Slips Away)".

I love this song, it was the early sixties, I was probably about 14, i can see that 45 playing on that Hi Fi right now. My oldest sister who was divorced and had returned home used to play it over and over. thank you so much for sharing. RIP Lorene
