Paul Carrack did a really nice cover of this song on his "One Good Reason" album. Favorite line: "Trumpets sound and I hear thunder boom, every time that You Walk In The Room." Great lyric, great melody.
Here is my Classical Guitar tribute to Jackie singing this song: https://youtu.be/u17VYHMi43c. ❤
The music was never better than in the early 60's. Free of all pretensions, just terrific tunes.
A wonderful song, who can't relate to those words. However I do prefer the version by The Searchers.
Oooh, a very young boy's dream...mine.
Her unique and wonderful vocal styling -- especially in the line about a "pounding sensation in my brain" -- foreshadows (for me) Bruce Springsteen. She's absolutely awesome, and WAY ahead of her time.
What a smashing, beautiful, emotional song...... I used it as a background to my birthday wish for Ania...... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYqLeCVkRrM
This song goes out to Alice W. You are every thing a man could like. Smarts, beauty and compassion
How often do you hear the word "nonchalant" in a song?
a superb singer/songwriter.
I had a "45" record & this song was on the "B" side of it. The other song was "Put a Little Love in Your Heart".
I did not know this song... thanks
This makes me think of my first girlfriend in high school. I was completely in love with her even though I'm gay, I still loved her, body and soul.
Brilliant ?
her 80th birthday happy b day
This is the song that did it for me in 1963! I fell in love with the most gorgeous girl in our London offices. And this is just how it felt. We are still together not far from London in 2021. Love works!
63… those were the days !!
Vcvbhc,hbkpb.,,pp,
Great
One of the truly great pop songs. And that amazing guitar riff. Love this version too, it was The Searchers that I first heard.
The 2009 Searchers concert cover of this brought me here - and created a problem. I cant decide which version I like better, so I just listen to both, and often. And this song is going in my music book
Believe that's Glen Campbell playing the 12-string ... "Wrecking Crew" studio musicians simply outstanding.
Just 3 minutes long and an absolute classic
Bit of trivia. The guitar you are hearing is a 12 string played by.... Glen Campbell.
