In Eternum - The Anatomy Of Melancholy

Review by Julius Francisco

In Eternum's album, The Anatomy of Melancholy, is a powerful and emotional tribute to the darker aspects of the human experience. The album features a range of haunting melodies and intense, heavy riffs that convey a sense of raw emotion and introspection.

The vocals on the album are particularly impressive, with a range of guttural growls and soaring cleans that perfectly capture the mood of the music. The lyrics are equally powerful, touching on themes of loss, pain, and the struggle for meaning in a world that can often seem cruel and indifferent.

About In Eternum

Doom/Gothic Metal band from Buenos Aires, Argentina. In Eternum begins in the middle of 1998, with the traditional structure of rock band - Guitar, Bass, Drums and Voice - but with clear objectives to incorporate Keyboards, Violin, Female Voices and reach a level of musical composition inclined to the Doom Gothic Metal This original training was composed by Claudio Cabello (Drums), Horace Miguez (Bass), Víctor (Voice) and Adrián Massenzana (Guitars) and by the end of that year Néstor (Guitars) would be incorporated to begin composing the first songs . Shortly after and after Néstor's departure from the band, Gustavo Tupone (Guitars) and Claudio Carranza (Keyboards) enter; With this structure In Eternum makes his first live performances in Federal Capital and GBA and plays as a support for Sabaoth in his visit to Buenos Aires. After these presentations and already in the year 99, Vocalist Victor and the band are separated from the band keyboardist Claudio Carranza and join the project El Podrido (Voice), Andrea Cagnoli (Keyboards), Ivonne Lenz (Female Voices) and Cristian (Violin). At the beginning of the year 2000 In Eternum begins to record the first CD "Seas of Forguetfulness". Disc that would go on sale in Argentina in October of that same year and Black Castle Productions USA would edit for the rest of the world in 2002. With this training and with a well-defined musical style In Eternum performs a lot of dates on various Federal Capital and GBA sites and the interior of the country highlighting dates such as Devastation in the province of Tucumán, Pandemia, Jericó, Avernal, Vampiria, The Mission (UK) in Hangar, and other bands of various styles of the local scene. Towards the end of 2002 they move away from the band Claudio Cabello (Drums), Andrea Cagnoli (Teclados), Yvonne Lenz (Voices Females) and Cristian (Violin), who are replaced by Andrés Galeano (Drums), Pablo Urones (Teclados), Ariel Viera (Violin), and Verónica Neumann (Female Voices). During this period In Eternum begins to compose the themes that will be part of his new album without neglecting the live performances, opening for Therion at the Gran Rivadavia Theater, and Gorgoroth in Cemento venue, and various presentations inside the country with various bands from the different provinces. Thanks to the arrival of the new members, In Eternum achieves very good reviews a much more compact sound. Excellent arrangements in the Female Voices are achieved by Veronica and a much more active physiognomy in Drums and Keyboards. But in mid-November 2004 and about to start recording the second CD for different reasons, they move away from the band Andrés Galeano (Drums), Verónica Neumann, (Voices Feminine), Pablo Urones (Teaclados) and Horacio Miguez (bass) . After this massive game, far from lowering the arms In Eternum replaces them with Gonzalo Gutiérrez (Drums), Lord Glitter (Bass), Anetta (Female Voices) and the return of Claudio Carranza (Keyboards) and with only four trials and thanks to the dedication and professionalism that the new members put him on we played on 04/12/2004 at El Duende, this being a great show. After what happened in the Republic of Cromañon and with the consequences that this unfortunate event brought In Eternum did not waste time and due to the lack of places to play we got ready together with the new members returning to the scene on 05/21/2005 next to nothing less than L6b6t6my and Serpentor in CBGB being this date very well received by critics in general. In June 2006, Anetta leaves the band and is replaced by Analia Lopez. In mid-2007 The Podrido leaves the band and Lord Glitter takes over the lead voice in addition to the bass with this new alignment the band enters a new stage. In August of 2008 Analía leaves the band being replaced by Pame Lee, with which we recorded our third CD "The Anatomy Of Melancholy". By the time the album goes on sale, Pame Lee leaves the band, being replaced by Julieta, then in 2015 Julieta is placed by Silvia. In this short biography, we only mention some of the musicians who passed through In Eternum approximately around forty (between sessionists or step musicians) but the essence remains intact as the first day.
