Guem - Patanga

Patanga is an album by the French percussionist Guem, released in 1978. The album is a fusion of African and Latin American rhythms, with Guem's virtuosic percussion skills at the forefront.
The album opens with "Le Serpent," a hypnotic track in which Guem's percussive patterns build and evolve over a steady bassline. "La Foret Vierge" is a more frenetic track, with Guem's rapid-fire conga playing taking center stage. "La Fete" is a festive track that incorporates elements of samba and Afro-Cuban rhythms.
Throughout the album, Guem showcases his ability to create complex and intricate rhythms using a variety of percussion instruments, including congas, djembes, and bongos. The album's production is sparse, allowing the focus to remain on Guem's virtuosity.
