Gravemind - Volgin

Review by Rick Costa

Volgin, the latest album by Gravemind, is a masterful display of metalcore musicianship. The band's ability to blend crushing riffs and breakdowns with atmospheric interludes is nothing short of impressive.

The album's opener, "The Effigy," sets the tone for what's to come, with its haunting intro and explosive chorus. From there, tracks like "Phantom Pain" and "Volgin" offer up more of the same, with intricate guitar work and thunderous drumming.

One of the highlights of the album is "Hollow," which features guest vocals from Marcus Bridge of Northlane. Bridge's soaring voice adds another layer of emotion to an already powerful track.
