Review by Camila Araya

La Meccanica Naturale is the latest album by the Italian progressive rock band Finisterre. The album features six tracks that showcase the band's signature sound of complex arrangements, virtuosic musicianship, and a fusion of different genres.

The album opens with "Ode al Mare," a grandiose track that sets the tone for the rest of the album. The song features intricate guitar work, soaring keyboards, and a powerful rhythm section. "Macinaaqua, Macinaluna" is a more subdued track that showcases the band's versatility. The song features beautiful acoustic guitar work and haunting vocals.

"La Morte di un Re" is a standout track that features a driving rhythm, soaring guitar solos, and a catchy melody. The song is a perfect example of the band's ability to blend different genres, including progressive rock, jazz, and classical music. "Il Grande Bianco" is another highlight, featuring a complex arrangement and outstanding musicianship.

About Finisterre

Italian symphonic and progressive rock band formed in Genoa in April 1993. They developed a style that drew on both Italian 1970s styles and British prog, often involving extended compositions and poetic Italian lyrics. After issuing the album Höstsonaten (as by Finisterre Project) they also later existed in parallel as with a different musical focus.
