Comments
By the time of 2017's Winter, Fen's formula goes on the epic route a bit too much to be on par with their previous ones. The opening, longest cut exhaust the listeners right after its end, and the following cuts don't' reach similar heights, neither the blasting sections or the many chugging Metalcore breakdowns that abound in cuts like the fifth track. Too complicated and metal-drenched for many, but not bad in any way.Highlights: "I (Pathway)", "V (Death)".

Best album of 2017 by a mile... and it's been a good year for metal. Definitely Fen's best album.
I always really enjoyed Fen, but they weren't one of my absolute favorites, so I previewed this when it came out, and slept on it most of the year. On a whim, I decided to give it another shot, and bought the LP. Now, I am completely in awe of this album... I can't stop listening, because this album completely leaves me breathless. Not only one of my favorites this year, but already one of my favorite progressive edged black metal albums, ever. This is their pinnacle moment. What a masterwork.
