For being an uninteresting metal band, Evergrey have pointed to the most unlikely kind of fanbase existing in the genre: young metal fans who feel "mature", "courageous" and "progressive". Probably, most of them don't know how much this band is far from the "Progressive/Power Metal" they've been often heralded as, and instead are much to a certain branch called "Metalcore/Easycore". Translation: the band offer mature messages with low guitar-chording and Jens-Johansson-like keyboard playing. Tom Englund's voice continues to seem a rabid-dog Eddie Vedder snarl, and when he tries the higher register he is almost unlistenable. Most of the cuts on The Inner Circle feature excessively dramatic song structure, and the last song is a mere soliloquy sampled from a film.Highlights: "A Touch of Blessing", "The Essence of Conviction".
This Track is a Milestone in Music. THe Video could have a better Quality.
Sometimes I just think that they are the best band on the planet. All their music speaks to me on a spiritual level. The sheer aggression and beauty of all their music has no equal.
I saw this song on TV very late one night in between programs back in 2004 I walked out just a sec before the credits and missed the band name and title .Damn it I could've been a fan years 18 years ago. Thankfully I found this in 2019 and now a fan for life!
