Comments
Letter From a Country Farm is worth 5 stars by itself, but every cut here is full of emotion and intensity, a completely heavy set of songs riding brilliant low end, vocals and players are off the chart for passion. The recording is dense and dynamic. I have no clue how the reviewer got this wrong.
Eric burdon is a true blues shouter. The man is a rock star
Loved this album when it came out and still love it. Guitarist Aalon's razor sharpness was great!
Great rock album, Aalon butler kicks ass on guitar
Je me souviens avoir vu un clip de cette chanson à la télé Française peu après la sortie de l'album "Sun Secrets"... Il y avait aussi un clip de "Hollywood Woman".
Où sont-ils ?
Où sont-ils ?
How much time did he get? I used to know him very well. I was Eric's engineer during that era. Alvin was a virtuoso rock drummer. I have a lot of old Eric stuff wtih Alvin and Aalon that I will begin putting up on YT.
Alvin is locked up at the california rehabilitation center in norco ca. he looks real sucked up but he still rocks on the drums. He plays for the prison band.
@JulianThomePictures I knew Alvin out in Hollyweird in 1978. I was playing with Phil Seymour and had a demo-studio set up at Lil' Buddies rehearsal rooms at Hollyweird & Vine. He would come in before doing a session fo all kinds of people around L.A. I'd throw a track at him and he'd wail on it for a couple takes! He was incredible! But he might've had too-much fun. according the law. I hope he's alright!
Man this is a great album. Pity the versions of the animals songs aren't here...they kicked arse!
Is that true about Alvin? What is he in for?
Not bad covering ? ; Royals : The real me
Good version by Finnis group.
Good version by Finnis group.
I cant talk about the specifics but he will tell you it was the sex, drugs and rock and roll that got the best of him. Its a sad story.
I am glad you posted this song... the first song on the first side. I went out and bought the cassette (remember those 3 & 3/4 ips things) after I saw the band perform on Don Kirshner's "In Concert" TV series. Sad to hear what has become of his fellow musicians. However, I have seen a video on Youtube with the bassist playing with Eric and Brian Auger's group in 1991. "Ring of Fire" from the same LP is also a great cut displaying Eric's versatility in covering a Johnny Cash standard.
Yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
